Lingxuan Liu is a PhD candidate in Environmental Policy and Management at the School of Environment, Nanjing University, China, where he contributed in several research projects on recycling industry, industrial ecology as well as environmental planning in the State Key Laboratory of Pollution Control & Resource Reuse. He was also a visiting member in the program of Governance on Sustainable Development (GSD) in Bren School, University of California, Santa Barbara for two years.

He holds a BSc in biochemistry and a MSc in environmental science, both in Nanjing University. After undergraduate study, his interests gradually transfer from hardcore lab science to social experiments: the policies, institution and governance on environmental, energy and climate issues. His general research interests include international regime on climate change, multilevel governance, local institutional innovation and adaptive management. He is now completing his dissertation for his PhD research on multilevel climate policy and local decision making.
