Peter Edwards is a post-doctoral researcher in the International Forest Policy group at Department of Forest Products, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. His research focuses on areas of environmental and natural resource governance, particularly in the areas of water, forestry and urban planning. He pays particular attention to participatory aspects in environmental and natural resource planning and policy, especially which actors are included and excluded, the discourses used in international forestry and the power structures that surround them. Peter also has an interest in how participation and power lead to the development of trust or distrust in the policy or planning setting, and the possible effects that trust or distrust have on the legitimacy of policies or plans.
Previously, Peter obtained a Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia and a Masters in International Environmental Science from Lund University. Peter ventured into the social sciences, completing his PhD in Sociology and Political Science at Griffith University in 2010.
