Mr. Ehresman received his bachelor’s degree in biblical studies in 1979 from Wheaton College, Wheaton, Illinois. Following several years with the navy flying cargo helicopters, he attended the University of Michigan Law School, Ann Arbor, Michigan, obtaining his J.D. December 1990. As part of this curriculum, he served as a legal intern at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, and completed an extensive study of the environmental policies of foreign direct investment assistance agencies based on research conducted at OPIC and at UNEP headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya. He then practiced corporate transactions and securities law in Denver, Colorado with a private law firm, after which he undertook studies to enter the teaching profession. He is currently completing his dissertation for the Ph.D. in political science at Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado. His present research interests focus on international environmental fairness and equity in North-South foreign direct investment.
