Bernd Siebenhüner is professor for ecological economics at Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, Germany. He coordinates the Master’s programme Sustainability Economics and Management and served as vice president for graduate education and quality management 2010-2015. After earning his degrees in Economics and Political Science from the Freie Universität Berlin and the Ph.D. from the University of Halle-Wittenberg, he held positions at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), at Harvard University, and at the Nelson Mandela University.

He headed numerous transdisciplinary research projects in the fields of social learning, socio-ecological system dynamics, international organizations, global environmental governance, corporate sustainability strategies, climate adaptation and biodiversity governance, and the role of science in global environmental governance.
