I am a post-doctoral researcher at the University of São Paulo, Brazil. I hold a PhD degree in Environment and Society (Unicamp, Brazil, 2014), a MSc in Environmental Science (University of São Paulo, 2007) and a BSc in Social Sciences and Sociology (Unicamp, 2002). I was a visiting researcher at San Francisco State University, USA (2016), at the Institute of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences, Fudan University, Shanghai, China (2012) and at the Faculty of Environmental Studies, York University, Toronto, Canada (2005). I am a former project officer and consultant of ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability in South America and GIZ – Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit. I am a member of the Earth System Governance Project and UCCRN (Urban Climate Change Research Network) networks. I have authored 20 papers, 7 books and 28 book chapters about issues regarding environment and society. Areas of interest: social and political dimensions of global environmental change, climate policy, environmental risks, local governance, nature-based solutions.
