Non-residential Research Fellow, ACTS, Kenya

Dr. Muthoni Mwaura holds a doctorate in Geography and the Environment and masters in Nature, Society and Environmental Policy from Oxford University as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences from Kenyatta University. Her doctoral research investigated youth subjectivities in the context of prevailing socio-economic uncertainties and environmental change and their relation to the national, regional, and global governance systems. Working within environment and agriculture sectors, her doctoral work has resulted in new questions concerning youth agency in productive sectors, in climate governance, and in sustainable development, subjects which she intends to extend her research focus.

She is a non-residential research fellow with the African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS) and has previously worked in various research and international organizations at various levels.
