Harro van Asselt (PhD, cum laude, VU University Amsterdam) is Professor of Climate Law and Policy at the University of Eastern Finland Law School, and Senior Research Fellow at the Stockholm Environment Institute. He is author of The Fragmentation of Global Climate Governance (Edward Elgar, 2014) and co-editor of Climate Change Policy in the European Union (Cambridge University Press, 2010), Governing Climate Change (Cambridge University Press, 2018) and The Politics of Fossil Fuel Subsidies and Their Reform (Cambridge University Press, 2018).

He has published extensively on issues related to global climate governance in edited books and journals, including Global Environmental Politics, Climate Policy, Law & Policy and Nature Climate Change. He is editor of the Review of European, Comparative and International Environmental Law (RECIEL), and serves as Associate Editor of the Carbon and Climate Law Review.
