Steve Vanderheiden is an Associate Professor of political science and environmental studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder in the United States and Professorial Fellow at the Centre for Applied Philosophy and Public Ethics (CAPPE) at Charles Sturt University, located at The Australian  National University in Canberra.

His current research concerns the normative political analysis of international climate regimes as well as individual and collective responsibility for climate change. He is also interested in the role played by social norms in environmental behavior and in democratic deliberation about global environmental problems like climate change.
