Conference Format

Conference Format

The 2026 Bath Conference will take place primarily in person, with only a limited number of sessions offered in a hybrid format upon request and with sufficient advance notice. Plenary sessions will be livestreamed for virtual participants and recorded for later viewing.

Parallel panels and innovative sessions are expected to take place in person. Therefore, all chairs, discussants, presenters, and contributors are expected to participate on site.

These sessions will only be offered in a hybrid format if organizers are notified well in advance, allowing time to arrange the necessary technical facilities. In such cases, a maximum of one paper per panel may be presented online; and at least five participants (including organizers and contributors) per innovative session attend in person.

If you have any questions or would like to request a hybrid format for your session, please contact us at ESG@Bath.ac.uk. The organizers will review all requests before making a decision on whether online participation can be accommodated.

Looking back at #TCESG2025

During four days in August 2025, more than 400 participants from over 70 countries came together in Johannesburg for TC/ESG 2025, a joint conference organized by the Earth System Governance Project, the Transformations Community and the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, dedicated to navigating sustainability transformations toward justice and equity.

Have a look at the opening plenary session, which was recorded and shared with the broader audience!
