Event start: 20180404
End date: 20180407

Event description

The Earth System Governance research alliance will once again be strongly represented at the Annual Convention of the International Studies Association (ISA), 4-7 April 2018 in San Francisco, USA.

This year, about 80 members of the Earth System Governance Lead Faculty, Senior Research Fellows, Research Fellows, as well as Scientific Steering Committee members will attend the convention. They will present their research findings and publications, discuss new research activities, and network with more than 5.000 other participants.

The Earth System Governance Project is proud to once again be a co-host of the ISA Environmental Studies Section (ESS) Distinguished Scholar Reception, honouring Prof. Jennifer Clapp (University of Waterloo) – a member of the Earth System Governance Lead Faculty, on 5 April 2018.

At the 2018 ISA convention, the Earth System Governance New Directions Initiative will host a roundtable to engage members of the Environmental Studies Section (ESS) and the broader ISA community in debating and reviewing the draft Science and Implementation Plan now being developed for the next decade of Earth System Governance research and practice. Roundtable participants will also present ideas on the range of research methods that may underpin earth system governance research, as well as engagement with society and its modus operandi as an international network.

Details of all presentations, and more information about the convention are available on the website for the 2018 ISA Annual Convention.
