2021 Bratislava Conference on Earth System Governance: ‘Earth System Governance in Turbulent Times: Prospects for Political and Behavioral Responses’

Slovak Republic
Bratislava & Virtually
Event start: 7 September 2021
End date: 10 September 2021

Event description

The 2021 Bratislava Conference on Earth System Governance built upon the preparations for the 2020 Bratislava Conference, which was postponed due to Covid-19. During this time, we recognized the importance of continued knowledge advancement in Earth System Governance research, and for additional opportunities to address the turbulent times of 2020. The conference was designed to provide a lively forum for hundreds of scholars to engage in discussions on their research, and to exchange new insights and ideas on earth system governance and global sustainability.

Conference Streams

The 2021 Bratislava Conference was organized around the five analytical lenses structuring the earth system governance research agenda, as captured in the 2018 Science and Implementation Plan; and a sixth stream focusing on specific issues and challenges concerning the current moment of crisis, contestation, and calls for action across the globe.
