SDG Taskforce Virtual Roundtable Series

Event start: April 25th from 15:00-16:00 (CET)

Event description

We are excited to invite you to the launch of a new SDG Taskforce Virtual Roundtable Series, in which discussions led by each of the different working groups (WGs) will explore insights from current research and future trajectories. The series explores the questions of where and how incremental change is taking place, and under what conditions these developments generate and accelerate the ongoing sustainability transformation up to 2030 and beyond. In particular, we look into promises and pitfalls of SDG implementation and identify enabling and constraining factors for accelerating current ambition levels to implement the global goals.

Over the course of the next 12 months, WG co-leads will each host a roundtable discussion and invite speakers from within and outside the WG to provide short interventions based on their field of expertise on the overall topic of promises and pitfalls of accelerating SDG implementation. After the short interventions, all participants of the virtual roundtable are invited to ask questions, comment on the short interventions, and share their own experiences and views regarding the challenges of SDG implementation.

The first session of the Virtual Roundtable Series on Global Governance and the HLPF will take place Tuesday, April 25th from 15:00-16:00 (CET).
