Call for abstracts: 17th Nordic Environmental Social Science Conference

The 17th Nordic Environmental Social Science (NESS) conference will be hosted by Uppsala University in Sweden, 9-11 June 2026.

The conference brings together scholars across research fields for interdisciplinary knowledge co-production and co-creation for sustainability. The NESS conference has a long history of over 30 years of biennial gatherings of researchers within the broad field of social science and humanities approaches to environmental studies among the Nordic countries and beyond.

Abstract submissions are open until 8 December. Make your choice of over 30 workshop streams.

The conference is organized by the Climate Change Leadership Unit, the same unit that hosts the Earth System Governance Project’s International Office.
