How to engage with the Science and Implementation Plan for ECRs

At the 2024 Earth System Governance (ESG) Virtual Forum, a panel organised by the Early Career Committee introduced early career researchers and new fellows to the project’s current Science and Implementation Plan. The session aimed to address a gap identified in previous ESG conferences, where early career participants reported limited awareness of the plan and difficulties navigating or engaging with it.

The panel provided an overview of the updated Science Plan, highlighting its key themes and outlining how it differs from the project’s first plan. Speakers also contextualised the new framework within broader transformations in global governance, encouraging participants to consider how Earth System Governance research can be reimagined in an era increasingly defined by polycrisis.

The session was designed to foster accessibility and dialogue, supporting early career researchers and new fellows in connecting their work to the evolving priorities of the ESG community. Watch it below.

More information about the session is available on the 2024 ESG Forum event page.
