Aleksandar Šobot has researched governance transformation for seven years, addressing a multilevel environmental change. His doctoral research was related to Natura 2000; its implementation in SEE countries; the roles of governmental, non-governmental and international actors in the implementation of international sustainable development goals and multilevel environmental change. His research is closely related to Governance transformations (legislative and institutional level). The analytical problems he explored within this are national and local institutions and legislations and their adaptation to international environmental change according to the needs of sustainable development. His focus was on the Balkan countries (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia). Aleksandar Šobot finished his studies in SEE where he obtained work experience in governmental, non-governmental and international organisations related to environmental law and policy. Today he is a University of Ljubljana member and Research Fellow at the Centre of Political Theory.
