About

I am holding a full professorship for Geography at Trier University where I am head of the Governance & Sustainability Lab since 2015. Before I was assistant professor at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and a founding member of the Integrated Research Institute THESyS.
Trained as geographer (PhD Kiel), my work examines socio-political geographies of uneven (urban) environmental and resource governance. In my work I am examining sustainable (urban) futures, how these futures are anticipated and shaped: Powerful imaginaries and the agency around socio-material configurations (ie infrastructure) that mediate resource flows are of particular interest. My theoretical interests span (urban) political ecology, urban studies and debates over development and sustainability.
