As a development researcher and policy advisor, my work is diverse. It covers the reconfigurations of Mexico’s development cooperation, Mexican foreign policy, South-South cooperation in Mesoamerica, the Central American integration process, the Financing for Development agenda, post-development approaches, the nexus between democratic governance and development, and the human right to development.
I am working on an independent assessment of SDG 16 Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.
I have provided policy advisory to senior officials, most recently to the UN Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights. I was a national officer of the United Nations Development Programme and the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation.
