About

You can call me “dane”, and my research interests focus on socio-ecological systems and change, particularly production and consumption patterns, indigenous peoples’ adaptation processes, and environmental behaviors related to human-resource interactions. Corollary to these human-environment interactions, I also look at policy implications through futures-oriented perspectives and environmental histories.

I belong to two indigenous ethno-linguistic groups in the Cordillera Administrative Region (in the Philippines) — the northern Kankana-ey of Sagada, Mt. Province, and the Ibaloi of Bokod, Benguet. In Sagada, I am a member of Tanggew, a community library and eco-cultural learning and resource center based in barangay Banga-an.
