About

I am an urban planner and environmental researcher working at the intersection of stormwater management, urban resilience, and plastic pollution prevention. My work focuses on understanding how debris accumulation affects drainage infrastructure and contributes to localized flooding in rapidly urbanizing environments. Through a combination of literature review, field observation, and hydraulic modelling, I investigate practical interventions that can improve the performance of urban stormwater systems. I am currently developing the Smart Drain concept, an inlet filtration and monitoring approach designed to reduce debris-related clogging, prevent plastic leakage into waterways, and enhance flood resilience in cities. My research and practice span Australia, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka.
