I am the Head of the Department for Environmental Management and an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Informatics, University of Novo Mesto (Slovenia). I teach courses on environmental impact assessment, environmental protection, environmental management, and sustainable development. I also serve as an external lecturer at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, University of Nova Gorica (Slovenia), focusing on environmental protection, environmental economics, and spatial modelling using GIS applications.
I am affiliated with the Centre for Political Theory at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), where my research interests are in political ecology. At the national level, I am a member of the Council for Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development of the Republic of Slovenia. At the local level, I am an active member of BirdLife Slovenia, a leading environmental NGO.
With more than ten years of experience collaborating with the private sector, I have worked extensively in environmental consulting, particularly in environmental impact assessment processes and the protection of subterranean species, including the olm (Proteus anguinus).
I firmly believe that environmental protection is the foundation of sustainable development, and this principle continues to guide my academic and professional work.
