Eeshan Chaturvedi is an environmental and energy lawyer. He is currently pursuing his doctoral studies at Stanford University. He completed his LLM in Environmental law and policy from Stanford Law School. A former Law Clerk with the Supreme Court of India and the National Green Tribunal, his expertise lies in environmental issues ranging from groundwater restoration, restructuring of highways and other infrastructure projects, to sustainable development requirements in the policy framework, international oil spill, and like cases.
His research has focused on the development of an International Judicial System dedicated to Environmental Jurisprudence for efficacious and timely settlement of issues relating to Environmental and Energy Laws and Policy.
Over the years, he has been the recipient of the John Hart Ely awards for outstanding performance in Environmental Law and Policy and has been chosen as one of the top 20 rising environmental leaders by the Stanford Woods Institute for environment.
A member of the World Commission on Environmental Law, Eeshan is a practicing Advocate in the Supreme Court of India; Founder-Director of Environmental – Public Policy Consultancy ‘EnviPol’, Co-Director of the Global Policy, Diplomacy, and Sustainability (GPODS) Fellowship and a faculty member at the Jindal School for Environment and Sustainability.
