Fabiana Barbi is an associate researcher at the Center for Environmental Studies and Research (Nepam), University of Campinas (Unicamp) in Brazil and a post-doc researcher at the Catholic University of Santos (UniSantos) in Brazil. Her current research involves local climate change policies in Brazil, concerning mitigation and adaptation strategies in Brazilian cities. She holds a PhD degree in Environment and Society (Unicamp, Brazil, 2013). She holds a MSc in Environmental Science (University of São Paulo, Brazil – 2007) and a BSc in Social Sciences and Sociology (Unicamp, Brazil – 2002).
She was a visiting researcher at San Francisco State University (2016), at the Institute of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences, Fudan University, Shanghai, China (2012) and at the Faculty of Environmental Studies, York University, Toronto, Canada (2005). She was also a project officer at ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability, working in projects regarding governmental climate change actions in South America.
