Fred Dahlmann’s research focuses on the emergence of new private sector actors, their potential agency in contributing to ESG, and the achievement of the SDGs more specifically. Together with colleagues at Warwick and Monash, our research argued that we believe these actors need to be examined using the five ESG research lenses (Dahlmann et al., 2020). Next, we are in the process of publishing empirical insights around the potential of this “purpose ecosystem”. Specifically, we are intrigued by the predominantly values-based approaches employed in this sector. As such, our research also speaks to particularly Transformations and the Anthropocene as key contextual conditions, though we believe it matters also from the perspectives of Inequality and Diversity.
