Gabriel Dinda is a PhD candidate at University of Groningen (Netherlands) and University of Nairobi pursuing Ph.D in Climate Change and Adaptation(Dual Doctoral Program). He has particular interest in investigating the impact of youth activism in influencing climate policies. Gabriel has master’s degree in Applied Philosophy and Ethics from Strathmore University, a Bachelor’s in Economics and Finance (Kenyatta University) and a Certified Sustainability Professional (GRI). Professionally, he has worked as a Lecturer of Applied Philosophy, Ethics and Environmental Sustainability at Strathmore University, for the past seven years. Gabriel has a deep interest in writing and lifelong learning. In 2014, he founded Writers Guild Kenya, a Centre for readers & writers working to encourage general reading and Writing culture in Kenya. As the chair of Writers Guild-Kenya, he has trained and mentored 186 first time authors and championed 28 functional book clubs in a period of 10 years. In 2014, he was awarded as the Most Promising Entrepreneur, owing to the number of writers he had mentored and had been employed to create content to different companies. In 2015 he was awarded as Top 25 Under 25 (Business Category) for creating platform to guide young people on writing as a business. In 2018, he was awarded as the 1st Runner’s Up in the Writing and Research Category in Utumishi Bora Awards. In 2021, he was awarded Top 40 Under 40 by Nation Media Group and was recognized by BIC East Africa (2022) and Africapitol(2024) as among the 50 Most Influential youth working to enhance the common good in Kenya. He is the author of Questions of my Youth (2019), Guide to Self-Publishing (2018), Youth Unemployment in Kenya, a Ticking Time Bomb (Co-authored,2016) and currently finalizing on his latest manuscript, “The Journey”
