I am a Researcher in the Natural Resources and Sustainable Development programme at the Department of Earth Sciences, Uppsala University. My ongoing projects focus on multifunctional landscapes, nature-based solutions, multi-purpose forestry and the water-energy-food-ecosystems nexus. I have published on a range of topics related to rural and landscape governance, land ownership, and community resilience. Before moving to Sweden, I worked at Scotland’s Rural College and the University of the Highlands and Islands (UK), and I was an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh from 2016 to 2024. I have served as an independent adviser, providing expertise on rural community and land use matters to Scottish Ministers, multiple policy teams within the Scottish Government, and the Council of Europe Congress of Regional and Local Authorities.
