Johannes Nilsson is a project intern working at the Earth System Governance International Project Office. His focus is on research, communications and editorial support for inputs into the policy process for the Sustainable Development Goals being developed for both the governance of, and governance for, the Post 2015 Development Agenda. He is currently studying towards a Masters Degree in Asian Studies at Lund University and holds a B.Sc. in Political Science and Local Governance from Örebro University, Sweden.

Johannes has a strong educational base in technical subjects as well as the social sciences with work experience from private and public sectors as well as the Swedish navy. He also brings extensive practical development work experience from his time as the project officer on communication and climate change for the Swedish organization Forum Syd in Cambodia. During his three years in Cambodia, Johannes co-managed the Joint Climate Change Initiative, a collaborative effort between three international organizations to enhance climate change mitigation and adaptation capacities among 22 Cambodian NGOs and their target communities. This included realization of multiple workshops and organizing international study trips to showcase best practices.

His research interests include local and global governance, climate change, natural resource management with a particular interest on Southeast Asia.
