About

Dr Guivant is a Full Professor at the Department of Sociology and Political Science, Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil, where she also serves on the Graduate Program in Political Sociology (MA and Ph.D.) and the PhD Program in Interdisciplinary Humanities. Graduated in Philosophy from the Universidad Nacional del Sur, Bahia Blanca (Argentina), has MA in Sociology from the University of Campinas, Brazil, and PhD in Sociology at the same University.

Guivant main areas of experience are in environmental sociology, sociology of food and sociology of scientific knowledge, acting on the following themes: governance of technological, rural /food environmental risks, social risk analysis (communication and perception) and food healthy trends. Also Dr Guivant is researcher from CNPq (Brazilian National Research Council). Dr Guivant has supervised more than 40 PhD and Master theses and is member of many scientific associations.
