Karin Thalberg works as a Research Assistant at the Earth System Governance Project International Project Office, based at Uppsala University. She has an academic background in interdisciplinary environmental social sciences and development studies, and has working experiences from policy analysis, advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and research, in Sweden, Belgium, France and India.
Before joining the project, she worked as a Research Fellow at the Jacques Delors Institute in Paris, focusing on European energy policy at the intersection of research, policymaking and public engagement. Her main interests lie in questions of social justice, inclusion, and how citizens can be more actively involved in climate and energy governance.
At the Earth System Governance Project, Karin primarily works with communications, network management, external collaborations, and Early Career support. She furthermore facilitates the new ESG Policy Brief series and assists the author team of the next Science Plan.
