Dr. Mohd Ashari Bakri is a Senior Lecturer at the Labuan Faculty of International Finance, Universiti Malaysia Sabah. His research sits at the intersection of corporate finance, Shariah compliance, ESG (environmental, social, and governance), and sustainability, all of which are critically relevant to today’s pressing economic and environmental challenges. His work contributes to national goals through research on carbon emissions, financial inclusion, and poverty eradication programs.
Dr. Bakri actively supervises postgraduate research in areas such as fintech adoption, firm performance, and sustainable reporting. He is also involved in the Taskforce for the Malaysian Government’s BMT poverty alleviation initiative and leads a university research grant examining trade openness and emissions in Asia.
Recognized for both academic leadership and service, he has published in high-impact journals and serves as a reviewer for numerous international publications.
