Faisal is a UK-ESRC funded doctoral researcher at the University of Bath UK conducting research on Sustainability and Energy Transition, with a focus on the socio-political, policy, economic, and justice implications of clean energy transitions in Pakistan. His research work has been deeply rooted in SDG-7 & SDG-13 with focus on renewable energy, environmental sustainability, climate politics, climate & energy justice, and political economies of energy transitions in the Global South. He holds diverse academic qualifications, including a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, a Master’s in Energy Management, and an MBA from Pakistan. He further advanced his academic credentials with an M.Sc. in New and Renewable Energy (Distinction) from Durham University, UK, awarded through the Commonwealth Scholarship of UK Government, and Master of Research (MRes) in International Development (Distinction) from the University of Bath, UK under UK-ESRC studentship. He is an experienced energy sector practitioner with years of experience across multinational and public sector organizations with strong expertise in energy policy, projects development, regulatory affairs, electricity market development, renewable energy deployment, sustainability, net zero transition and more. Moreover, he has global affiliations with various international research and policy advisory forums including his fellowship at the Durham Energy Institute, UK.
