Nina Hissen is a PhD candidate in International Development at the School of International Development and the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research at the University of East Anglia. In her PhD thesis Nina is interested in governance processes over water resources in the Equatorial Nile Basin and in how far processes are influenced by discourses related to climate change as well as the consequences for collaborative water management.

Nina holds a Diplom (M.A. equivalent) in Political Science (Free University Berlin -2010). Previously to her PhD Nina has studied and worked in Washington, DC, Singapore, Italy and Uganda.

Nina’s general research interests are water governance, climate change, cooperation and conflict over environmental resources with a regional focus on East Africa and the Nile Basin.
