Peter is the Rechnitz Family Endowed Chair in Marine & Environmental Law and Policy in the Department of Political Science and Sociology at Monmouth University in New Jersey, USA. He has written seven books including a second edition of Sustainability: The Basics, which is being translated into Spanish and Turkish. He works on civil society dynamics, including Indigenous politics and organized climate denial. He also works in coastal and marine policy, and is affiliated with the Urban Coast Institute at Monmouth. He is currently working on a Green Indigenist International Relations theory, and continues to work in the Middle East and North Africa region.
