Priya Priyadarshini is an early-career researcher with focus on policy restructuring and realignment for sustainability. She holds a Master’s and a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences (Environmental Technology) from Banaras Hindu University, India and presently works as an DST INSPIRE Faculty Fellow at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India.
Addressing sustainability challenges through evidence-backed policy generation, her current research focuses on advancing ESG and sustainability reporting frameworks within Indian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and fostering responsible food consumption and waste reduction among youth. Priya’s work adopts a holistic, interdisciplinary approach—integrating environmental, social, administrative, and technological dimensions while accounting for institutional diversity in size, geography, and student demographics.
During her PhD tenure, Priya was also selected as an IPBES (Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services) Fellow for the Business and Biodiversity Assessment. She has also worked as a Programme Officer within a leading environmental think-tank with her work focusing on sustainable food systems and soil health.
