Melanie Boeckmann is an associate professor for Global Health at the University of Bremen. Her climate change and health-related research deals with the evaluation of health effects of climate change adaptation, putting a focus on justice and equity considerations.
She was a JSPS Summer Program Fellow in 2013 at the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) in Tsukuba, Japan, and continues to collaborate with researchers in Japan on topics of SDGs, energy and health, as well as environment, food and health. Melanie has a second research focus on implementation research and on social and cultural environmental determinants of health behavior, with experience in tobacco use and tuberculosis in South Asia.
