Ravindra Singh is a PhD candidate in Geography at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. His research examines the socio-spatial distribution of urban green spaces in Delhi and the environmental inequalities that emerge through urban planning and governance processes. Using a spatial justice framework, his work investigates where urban green spaces are located, how planning decisions, land regulations, and development trajectories influence their distribution, and why certain communities experience greater access to environmental amenities than others. By analyzing planning policies and the spatial patterns of parks, city forests, and other green infrastructures, his research highlights how urban development can produce uneven environmental benefits across the city. Through this work, he seeks to contribute to broader debates on urban environmental governance and the role of planning in shaping equitable and sustainable urban environments in rapidly growing cities.
