Ruben Zondervan is the director of the Earth System Governance Foundation.

Ruben Zondervan is an experienced specialist in research management, science-policy, research policy, and strategic communications, and a policy analyst particularly in the area of governance and sustainable development and emerging technologies, and is deeply interested in the politics of science and the science of politics (and politics in general).

In addition to his work as independent advisor and “mercenary for science and sustainability” through RZ. Research. Management. Communication., he also serves as the executive director of Stakeholder Forum for a Sustainable Future, and as director of the Earth System Governance Foundation.

He served as the Executive Director or the Earth System Governance Project from 2007 to August 2019. In addition to numerous ex-officio appointments, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the International Environmental Communication Association (IECA) (2017-2019), academic director of the ReSET Programme “Governance of Global Environmental Change” (2011-2014), and advisor to universities, research projects, and policy processes.
