Sanoj is a Research scholar at the Centre for Studies in Science Policy, School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, with research interests in sustainability, natural resource governance, circular economy, energy, and public policy. His research examines the governance of resource and waste systems, with particular focus on lead-acid battery waste management, recycling practices, policy implementation, and sustainable resource recovery in India. His broader work explores how policies, institutions, technologies, markets, and communities shape sustainability transitions. Current research interests include circular economy, critical minerals, energy transitions, electric mobility, and environmental governance. He is particularly interested in understanding resource use and energy transitions through interdisciplinary approaches that connect environmental sustainability with social and institutional dimensions. His work seeks to contribute empirically grounded and policy-relevant insights for sustainable natural resource management and effective governance in the Global South.
