Saurabh Thakur, PhD, is an international consultant and policy analyst with expertise in maritime security, climate diplomacy, and international development. He currently leads operational research for the UNODC’s Global Maritime Crime Programme in the Indian Ocean and has previously advised India’s G20 Presidency and contributed to key platforms such as the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) and the National Maritime Foundation. His work integrates strategic research, field engagement, and multilateral diplomacy across Indian Ocean states, with a focus on organized crime, maritime governance, climate justice, security in the Anthropocene, and Indo-Pacific geopolitics. Dr. Thakur holds a PhD in International Relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University, India.
