As an environmental social geographer, my research spans freshwater management, urban resilience, disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation. I investigate hydro-social systems by assessing and monitoring risks, such as pollution and flooding and developing real-time alert mechanisms to ensure fair access to resources. My work emphasises co-production of knowledge, integrating local ideas and norms to strengthen governance capacity and design inclusive policies that serve all citizens. My interdisciplinary research is globally comparative, and impact-oriented. I am currently involved with the Centre for Environmental Research and Justice (CERJ) and the Birmingham Institute for Sustainability and Climate Action (BISCA). In various research roles within Birmingham, previously I worked as a fellow for the Leverhulme Trust, NERC and the Institute for Global Innovation.
