Yuan Feng is a Visiting Scholar at the Centre for International Law (CIL), National University of Singapore. He is also a PhD candidate at the School of International Affairs and Public Administration / Institute of Marine Development, Ocean University of China. He holds a Master of Laws in International Politics from Ocean University of China and a dual Bachelor’s degree in International Economics and Trade (Economics) and Accounting (Management) from Southwest University of China. Yuan’s previous experience includes contributing to a National Social Science Fund of China project titled “Study on the ‘Unionization’ of Japan’s Maritime Strategy and its Implications.” His research focuses on emerging technologies, maritime security, ocean governance, and law of the sea, with a particular interest in the intersection of them, such as the challenges and responses posed by unmanned marine systems in non-traditional maritime security contexts.
