The SENSE PhD Summer Schools in 2011 and 2012 were aimed at helping Ph.D. students to better understand the causes of global change in an integrated manner and at the same time to develop options for the governance of a transition to more sustainable paths at the national and global levels. Lectures and seminars were conducted by recognized experts, and participants were given the opportunity to present and discuss their own research.
