Diana Franco is a PhD researcher at the School of International Development at the University of East Anglia. Her research seeks to contribute to the current debates on justice and climate change by exploring how indigenous peoples in Mexico are involved in the national REDD+ process. The research explores the gap between REDD+ discourse and the perspectives of indigenous peoples in Mexico on its implementation. By using semi-structured and informal interviews, direct observation and participant observation the research aims to strengthening knowledge about climate change mitigation approaches from a justice perspective.
Her research is funded by the Mexican Council for Science and Technology (CONACyT) and her supervisors are Dr. Sheila Aikman and Dr. Heike Schroeder.
