Elsabe is a PhD fellow at the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights, Oslo University. Her PhD research on the Right to Sustainable Development is concerned with the developing norms and obligations arising from this right and how it can be operationalised in selected countries. She also researches the African human rights system in the context of climate change and environmental degradation, including specifically on the rights of women, rights of children and the potential for climate litigation before the African human rights institutions. She worked with the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights from 2017 to 2020.
