Dr. Mugadza studies the water, energy, and food nexus. He has previously worked for the Washington, D.C.-based non-governmental group known as the Center for Water Security and Cooperation. He has also worked for the United Nations – Environment and Human Security in Bonn, Germany. He is a UNFCCC-nominated expert and a member of the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law.
